Rolltation

3 Carlton Street, Toronto, ON M5B 1L2

Rolltation recently opened its third location in Toronto and I got the chance to attend their grand opening.

After opening its first location in 2016, Rolltation has quickly gained popularity for being Toronto's first sushi burrito restaurant. For those of you who have never had a sushi burrito, they are different from a typical Mexican burrito. Instead of using a tortilla, these Japanese-style burritos are wrapped in nori (i.e. seaweed) and filled with rice and your choice of protein (typically fish) and other sushi-esque toppings. Not only does Rolltation's menu include several varieties of sushi burritos, they also offer poke bowls (which is basically a fish salad) and customers can craft their own burritos and poke by choosing from a variety of proteins, vegetables, fruits and sauces. If you don't like fish the restaurant also offers chicken, beef and vegetarian options. Whether you love sushi or not, Rolltation is great healthy alternative to a burger and fries.

Despite having a seating area, Rolltation's newest location at the corner of Carlton Street and Yonge Street is more suited for those looking for a grab and go meal. Overall, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible but seating is limited and the space is quite tight. If you're in a wheelchair I suggest taking your meal to go.

If you're a sushi lover like me, you'll love Rolltation. The food is fresh, healthy and a great option if you're in a hurry.
